The “Circus” tableware and kitchen collection, designed by Marcel Wanders and Gabriele Chiave for Alessi, confirms the brand’s ability to transform utensils into playful objects. The tendency towards whimsical design began with Alessi’s 1989 “Family Follows Fiction” series, which includes the bestselling vase “Girotondo”, designed by Stefano Giovanoni and Guido Venturini. Wanders said, “This circus is magical, and evokes feelings of wonder in kids and adults alike.” The pieces evoke wonder and excitement, turning daily monotony into a playful spectacle, filled with utensils that take on a life of their own; a life under the big top.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times.
