The Continental draws its inspiration from Europe

One of 2016 Milan Design Week’s surprises was hidden in a courtyard on Via Santa Marta (5 Vie area). The Sotow brand offered a futuristic wall of hunting trophies created with 3D printing, along with a series of slim, metal outdoor furnishings. The 3D printed figures were galvanized in gold and silver, and included a dinosaur, rhinoceros, and bear head, as well as the classic deer head with antlers. This return to the traditional using technology transforms embalmed hunting trophies associated with the Kitsch hunting lodges of the past into contemporary objects. Using advanced technology to decorate walls is another step forward for the current “Loosiano” trend (“decoration is not a crime”), which presents the joy of adorning walls with hunting trophies, albeit without the macabre embalming.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
