A Garden of Wonders, a project by Be Open presented at the Botanical Garden during the Salone del Mobile in Milan in 2015, staged, under the directorship of Ferruccio Laviani, fragrances prepared by international designers who have imagined, inside boxes, scattered among the flower beds, the choreography suited to represent some valuable historical essences. The origin of the project the idea of creating fragrant walks, giving essences a palpable form: precious bottles to smell, theories of bottles sealed with ancient, mysterious, labels, (Piero Lissoni) collections of fragrant plants (Tord Boontje), French perfumes from irreverent design (Jaime Hayon), fragrances accompanied by the sparkle of the stars (Front). The magic of the stands reveals how scent can be a potent stimulator of creativity. A Garden of Wonders is for designers: a compelling invitation to devote oneself to the project of fragrances.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
