Mosca Partners, along with Damn Magazine, organized the collective “Matter of Perception”, which exhibited in the Palazzo Litta (5 Vie quarter), a charming example of Lombardian Baroque architecture. The theme was “Tradition and Technology”, and the architect Diébédo Francis Kéré (born in Burkina Faso and educated in Berlin), created a sort of Neo-African village, entitled Courtyard Village, surrounded by a grain field in the central courtyard. The presentations included Alberto Meda’s Physix chair project for Vitra, hosted in the suggestive room of mirrors, the seventh edition of Belgium is Design, and ASTEP, Alessandro Sarfatti’s new brand, which features new designs by Francisco Gomez Paz and rereleases by Vittoriano Vigano e Gino Sarfatti. Others include Lanzavecchia + Wai’s new projects for Journey Est, and Mist-O (Tommaso Nani e Noa Ikeuchi) for Milestone design, another new brand launched in Palazzo Litta. Leo Di Caprio, an Italian-Brazilian designer new to the scene showed his recent collection created for AuCap, and the Finnish designer Ikka Suppanen exhibited vases from the One collection, and candelabras made of brass and copper from the Be&Liv collection.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
