Every year, AD magazine hosts AD Interieur, an event that features various tastes and styles in diverse, unique settings. This year, from September 3rd to the 18th, 14 international interior decorators participated in the event, setting up their installations at the Monnaie. Baciocchi Associati participated for the first time, offering a golden, clamshell-shaped, circular bed with a tufted headboard in the center of an otherwise stark bedroom. The cement floor has been left untreated, and the only other furniture is a low-sitting aluminum-based chair with curved arms, a small armoire covered in metal panels that allow the light from inside to shine through, and irregular, geometric, wrought-iron sconces. The result is an unusual play of contrasting surfaces that range from smooth to rough, raw to shining.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
