In the nineteenth century Florentine neighbourhood of Sant’Ambrogio, just a ten-minute walk from the Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral, there is a unique hotel, nestled on the main floor of a historic building. Alfieri Nove is a true home away from home. The hotel only was eight rooms, and appears to be a charming apartment, with common and private spaces that flow from one to the other. The strength of the ZPSTUDIO’s design is its domestic feel. The interior is decorated with a unique mix of designer pieces, as well as vintage and contemporary furnishings. The warm and inviting atmosphere makes staying at Alfieri Nove more like staying with friends. Breakfast is served in the dining room, has a noble, refined air. The rectangular table is surrounded by chairs, and hanging on the walls are a portrait of Vittorio Alfieri (a copy of the original hanging in the Uffizi museum), as well as other varying works, creating a convivial atmosphere.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
