Admiring oneself in the mirror

The passion for chocolate knows no borders or cultural differences. There is no one who is completely immune to its…..let’s say….. charms!
BbyB is a Belgian chocolate of the finest quality. The refined product line, conceived and supervised by chefs Bart Desmidt and Jan Verleye, includes over twenty different flavours, from the bitterest dark chocolate to the sweetest white, passing through many strange combinations, including chocolate with basil or lemon. BbyB, already famous in many European countries, has also recently won over the refined palates of the Japanese.
The brand has opened a store in Ginza, one of Tokyo’s most exclusive neighbourhoods, presenting its chocolate bars in a showroom that is stark and minimalist.
Designed by Nendo (in collaboration with Masumi Hotta – NOMURA Co., Ltd.), the store is completely free of decorations and the product is the only protagonist. The coloured tablets are arranged in a display of transparent Plexiglass with removable drawers. Next to the shop, behind thin glass wall, there is a coffee shop with a long counter where one can imagine customers discussing which chocolate taste is the best!

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
