In a new film dedicated to classic furniture, it is youth that narrate the classical. Matteo Garrone is a new generation of filmmaker who became the star of Cannes with his film “Gomorra” (based on the book by Roberto Saviano), and was invited again in 2015 to present his film, “Il Racconto dei racconti”, adapted from the fairy tales, “Lo cunto de li cunti”, by Giambattista Basile” (1643-1636). His pure viewpoint, untouched by the conditions of criticism, allows him to tell the story of classic style using traditional furniture saved from destruction, and scattered throughout an enchanting, historical location. The dreamlike short film’s atmosphere is similar to that of “Il Racconto dei racconti”, giving the classic pieces a timeless feel, liberating them from historical captivity and rendering them current.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
