Corte Campanile di Maglie is a boutique B&B in the heart of Salento; the building has managed to respect the white stone and vaults common in Salento’s traditional architecture, while using modern furnishing. Lago architects headed the project, and restored the four separate areas to their original splendor. The furnishing and accessories’ minimalist forms highlight the architectural details instead of hiding them.
Architects Angelo Martina and his wife Daniela Di Terlizzi are passionate about their work, saying, “We found a dilapidated building in front of us: a unique collection of four square rooms on the first floor, each with vaulted ceilings, a common area on the floor above, being used to store olives from a nearby decommissioned mill, and a terraced garden. All of this in the shadow of Maglie’s belltower, a part of the town’s principal church, the second tallest of the area”. The historic structure has been elegantly transformed into a place where one can not only feel the hospitality, but take in the local ambience.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
