“Doppia Firma” is a collaboration between designers and artisans specialized in expert manufacturing. It was featured during design week at the Biblioteca Ambrosiana by the Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d’Arte, Living magazine and yoox.com. Designers and artisans proved themselves by employing lesser-used techniques and materials, including alabaster, soapstone, plaster, and bronze, to create inventive, virtuous works of art. The objects range from a tool chest made of precious woods by Giacomo Moor, made by Giordano Viganò, a structure designed by Michele de Lucchi and made from sheets of paper hand-folded by the artist Daniele Papuli, to bronze and brass tables by Matteo Cibic, formed by Bottega Gadda, and buccheri designed by Ugo la Pietra, and made by Giovanni Mengoni. One cannot overlook the soapstone kitchen accessories by Lorenzo Damiani and sculpted by Roberto Lucchinetti, and the copper-painted and nickel-plated brass table lamp designed by Marco Zanuso Jr. and manufactured by Gabriella Gabrini…all of whch will be available this coming summer on yoox.com.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
