For the next Design Week, Shop Saman, the Milanese store specializing in ceramics mostly created within the Saman community (an organization dealing with people with severe social marginalization) and run by Susanna Brandolino, presents a collection of playful and dreamlike ceramics. Dedicated to the table, these ceramics are made by the young people in the lab of Villa Cilla, a residence in the countryside between Ravenna and Faenza destined to assisting rehabilitation programmes. Deliberately naive, since made by potters novice within the craft, the collection is an artistic way of talking about social issues. Thanks to the commitment and expertise of Susanna and Maria Cristina Sintoni, professional potter and teacher at Villa Cilla, the art of pottery survives even in the hustle and bustle of Milan. Shop Saman, a point of reference for well-known ceramic artists who present their collections there, represents an unusual area for ethic and artistic research.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
