Montrèaux’s Être avec Toi has the reputation of being a bit of a restaurant, a club, and a gallery. The artistic, bubbling locale is located inside of the W Hotel. MASSIVart, Sid Lee Architecture, BPC and Ivanohé Cambridge collaborated to bring new life to the luxury hotel’s ground floor; the entire hotel recently underwent a total renovation. Ê.A.T.’s interior was a blank page for local artists who specialize in street or modern art.
The stimulating, colourful atmosphere is filled with collaborative murals, canvas paintings, sculptures, and custom, artisan furnishings. The art is continuously changing, thanks to a rotation of works hanging on the walls. Urban culture is explored to its fullest at Ê.A.T., include a monthly visit from varying local DJs, and each is free to explore their own personal style. Last, but not least, one must not forget Être avec Toi’s cuisine: chef Alan Ashkinaze (ex-chef of New York’s Waldorf Astoria), is in charge of the kitchen and expansive 200-bottle wine cellar that offers selections from around the world.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
