It all begins with the arrival in the Archivio Zegna-Fondo Heberlein of a repertoire of flowered textile samples for clothing and furnishings. Inspired by the patterns in the archive, the artists Lucy + Jorge Orta have created a series of plates with floral designs in bright colours. To welcome guests to the showroom Zegna in Milan Lucy + Jorge Orta have staged the performance of the Spirits, wearing animalistic felt masks, during the evening presentation of Fabulae Naturae, the project curated by Maria Luisa Frisa and launched on the occasion of ‘Expo”. The project combines floral nature with food prepared by chef Davide Oldani. The porcelain plates, together with their preparatory drawings, adorned the walls. Part of the proceeds from the sale of the plates will be donated for the support of Casa Lovara and the protection of the Punta Mesco promontory in the province of La Spezia.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
