Enfants terribles of Art and Design

La Stagione Disobbediente
The latest achievement of the impassive Flemish duo of Studio Job, consisting of the couple formed by Job Smeet, always dressed in total black, and Nynke Tynagel, are lifelike pairs of angry cats fighting, (unique pieces in a series of eight) in bronze, pitch black, with golden claws. Made realistically, they have large eyes that light up when their genitals, also in gilded bronze, are touched. The white frame of the London Carpenters Gallery in Albermale Street enhanced their unparalleled workmanship,
the distinctive trait of the two designers, always devoted to detailed realism, the result of painstaking care in execution. The choice of cats corresponds to a special attraction Job Smeets has for these domestic animals which he thinks capable of interpreting human impulses.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
