Gentucca Bini, granddaughter of couturier Bruna Bini in Milan, is a special fashion designer. A graduate in architecture from the Politecnico di Milano, she brings an unconventional look to fashion, after having learned its secrets by working with Curiel, Ferré, Lagerfeld and Chanel. Independent of trends, she follows her own path nourished by continuous creation, ranging from clothing to textiles and to knitting. Her collections are made spicier by a good dose of irony that inspires her to look at things, according to the precepts of Bruno Munari, from another point of view. Unforgettable are the evening headdress creations made of dish scourers that excited Lagerfeld’s curiosity. Invited by Mantero Seta to rethink silk scarves, she designed an exclusive play of graphic motifs, similar to pixel designs, mixing together prints from different fabrics. She has recently created for Yoox, one of the most creative brands of e-commerce and fashion design, a series of sweatshirts decorated with large pop embroideries.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
