The Humanities Library dell’Incoronata (Corso Garibaldi, Milan) hosted in July the exhibition “Grand Tour, to discover traditional Italian ceramics”, curated by Jean Blanchaert, Viola Emaldi and Anty Pansera and organized by the AiCC (Italian Association Cities of ceramics) whose membership comprises 37 municipalities of ancient ceramic tradition. The event features classical-style ceramics, typical of the Italian tables, illustrated by decoration ranging from ancient to modern times, from Italian cities specializing in ceramics.
In supporting the apt name “Grand Tour”: this is a fascinating journey through the Italian manufacturing tradition, revealing refined expertise and vivid fantasies, designed to beautify daily tables. As state senator and AiCC President Stefano Collina says “the art of decorating the table has been constantly developing, marking the progress of the human condition.”

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
