A poor alphabet for precious creations

The young designer Bea Bongiasca, with a studio in Milan since 2013, has already conquered the stage of Design Miami in 2014 with a special collection “Happy-go-Cola” for the gallery Antonella Villanova. The Coca Cola bottle, a recurring motif in this collection, is a tribute to the encounter of western and eastern culture, where the term Cola means happiness, revealing an original playful approach to ornaments, capable of demystifying the importance of design. Thanks to Bea’s consummate skill, the figurative elements borrowed from the natural world combine in elaborate weaving.
There are many stories that intersect in her pieces: romance, shown by soft leis, marries the aggressive design of the knotted branches that wrap the bottle of Coca Cola in a precious rural cage, while pearls and coloured gemstones peep from the intertwining as if they were holly berries. In her creations Bea reveals an original talent in combining contemporary pop references to elaborate forms of classical jewellery.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
