Cella Bar, Immersed in Blue

Scorpios is found in Mykonos, between the aquamarine sea and sunny coastline. The locale has many functions, including a private beach, a bar, a restaurant and lounge. Scorpios is based upon the ancient Greek tradition of agorà, a social and cultural center that welcomes people and nurtures relaxing, enjoyable encounters between people. Michael Schickinger, of Lambs and Lions, joined with Athens’ K-Studio to come up with a space that could bring guests this sort of experience.
From a distance, Scorpios low structure seems to blend in with the island’s rocks. The innovative idea of holistic hospitality is enclosed in a building made from local materials, like wood and dry stone walls. The interiors are minimalist, the lounges simple and chic at the same time. The calm is interrupted around 6.30 p.m., when Scorpios sunset ritual begins, the music takes off, and a party starts that goes on into the small hours of the morning.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
