Brussels’ Jam Hotel is fit for any sort of visitor: young backpackers, couples in love, groups of friends, traveling businessmen… The hotel is located in an anonymous, 70’s era office building turned art school, and offers 78 rooms that can host from one to six people. Travelers who want an economical solution can also stay in one of the 18-place dormitories, accompanied by a game room (complete with ping pong, table soccer and arcade games), an Italian restaurant, two bars and a rooftop pool. The shared and private areas all have exposed cement as a common design theme. The brutalist ceilings and walls are raw, the check-in desk has cement sculptures, and the lounge, industrial tubing in the place of bookshelves.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
