Since its inception in 1949, Kartell, a company in Noviglio (Milan) specializing in plastic furnishings and accessories, has been devoted to the production of functional furnishings for the home. The products range from buckets to juicers to the garbage bin designed by Gino Colombini at the end of the fifties, the famous Gnomes stools designed by Philippe Starck in 1999, and the table lamp Bourgie (2004) by Ferruccio Laviani. In January 2015, it launched a collection of home fragrances; the design of the diffusers was entrusted to Architect Ferruccio Laviani and the creation of the fragrances to some expert noses from the top perfume houses in the world, extending its specialization from functional to the sensory. In this project, technological innovation has had a vital role, both in the construction of the capsules, and in the design of the diffusers, entrusted to Ferruccio Laviani. He designed a series of containers in various shapes, characterized by virtuous plastic manufacturing that creates unexpected transparencies in the polymers, making interweaving and fretwork, worthy of jewellery of the highest quality, possible.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
