There is something new happening on the banks of Lake Como. The lake is one of the world’s best-known angles, preferred by tourists and international stars alike. The recently inaugurated Il Sereno is a highly luxurious hotel located on a bluff in Torno, only a ten minute ride from Como’s city centre, a short distance from Lombardia’s principal airports, or by boat, which stops directly at a private dock. Guests can even take advantage of a boat ride in a world-famous Riva wooden boat.
The hotel is adjacent to the historic Villa Pliniana, managed by the same company as that of ll Sereno. The interior was designed by Patricia Urquiola, who is considered one of the most in demand, and most talented, designers of the moment. The 30 rooms and penthouse, (ranging from 65 to 200 square meters) are decorated with elegance and glamour. The lakeside spaces include a spa, a private beach, and an enchanting swimming pool surrounded by the lake’s natural surroundings. Another feature of the hotel is the restaurant, entrusted to Michelin-star chef Andrea Berton.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
