Budri is an internationally-known company specializing in marble works. In September of 2016, they released their first collection of glasses with marble frames. The project began in 2014, when Giacomo Budri began a collaboration with designer Valerio Cometti, as well as other seasoned veterans in the field. Two years of research led to the development of a technology that led to a collection of eyewear in marble, onyx and semiprecious stones.
Every pair of glasses is formed from a singular piece of stone, precisely cut into a frame, followed by the cutting the arms and frontal rims, and then assembled with a carbon fiber core. The collection includes five models based on iconic classics, including Aviators, and the 50’s cat eye, available in nine types of marble, including Amazonite from Patagonia, Portoro from the Spezzina riviera, and Lapis Lazuli from South Africa. The frames are available in shiny, matte and mixed versions with detailing in yellow or rose gold, as well as platinum.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
