At the 100% London Design Festival (24/27 September 2015) the talented duo Fredrikson Stallard presented a series of sculptural works of art in metal and 3D moulded resin, inspired by natural elements. Console tables, low tables and objects that seem, in their irregular shapes, to be rocks spewed out of the mouths of Icelandic volcanoes. Bright metal, faceted in an irregular way, or creased as if it were a sheet of paper, multiplying its reflections, suggesting unforeseen perspectives. The moulded resin has the roughness of worn stone from various geological eras. In their recent works, the designer/artist duo have perfected their skill , giving form to astounding pieces, in equilibrium between nature and the contrived.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
