Florentina: Reinassance 2.0
1 October 2015
26 November 2015
Bosa, a Venetian ceramics company, known for its collections by imaginative and irreverent designers, is offering a series of objects for Christmas 2015, defined “for companionship” and signed by Sebastian Herkner, Matteo Cibic, Nika Zupanc and Marc Sadler. Sebastian Herkner created a stylized sparrow with puffed up feathers, available in black and blue or red and gold. Matteo Cibic materialized his ironic vein in a plant holder in the shape of a dog, with a transparent head that serves as a mini greenhouse. He named it Dogsai, as it is a sort of sage for one’s desk, to accompany hours of solitary work. The charming Slovenian designer Nika Zupanc thought of a rocking desk clock that ticks the hours away with its swing, marked by jewelled hands on a white dial. Finally, Marc Sadler created a table lamp with movable head and pleated dress, which modulates light and shadow. The see-through finishes produce an intentional gelatinous effect, similar to that of a jellyfish.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
