We have spoken about ornamentation, pointing out its resurrection and diffusion both in fashion and design. A surprising exhibition dedicated to the Art of the Italian Bijoux, curated by Alba Cappellieri and Lino Raggio, is currently on at Palazzo Reale in Milan (February 19-March 2). It brings us back to ornamentation in all of its possibilities, from domestic and personal types, to wall decorations, to objects classified as valuable due to their materials or the expert way in which they are made. The revival of ornamentation points to a return to the figurative, at least in terms of design; this can be seen not only in triumphant plant and animal representations, but in surreal works, like those by Franco Moschino. As we are again speaking about ornamentation, we would also like to pay homage to the Czech designer, Borek Sipek, who left us a collection of decorative Bohemian glass that stands as a sublime expression of his luxuriant naturalism.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
