Marchesi: the new coffee shop

Prada’s show brought “tragic”, imperfect fashion to the runway. Not dandy, but beached veterans, with elbow patches and sailors’ hats. The theatre for this “uncomfortable” show was created, as usual, by the architect Rem Koolhaas, and used osb, an economic material that is normally hidden under veneer due to its disharmonious mix of wood shards. The order of the columns and the frame, which made the scene even more eerie, resembled the futuristic architecture of the Colosseo Quadrato by Adalberto Libera. Once again, Miuccia steps outside of the pack, and has sent a provocative message that fashion does not have to be consoling or nostalgic, but instead negates anxiety and epochal contradictions. The synergy between the space’s architecture and the stylistic offerings transformed the runway show into a theatrical presentation, this time, more tragedy than comedy.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
