Casa Cavia: a top-level cultural center

Ilenia Corti was raised in a family of jewellers, dedicated to the craft since 1969. After having grown up on bread and jewels, and having collaborated with the giants of luxury accessories, including Dolce e Gabbana, Casadei, Cacharel, Acne Studios, Marimekko and Emilio Pucci, she decided to open her own brand, Vernissage, in 2010. Her main source of inspiration is nature; insects like beetles and ants are found throughout her multi-coloured, enamel collections. Vernissage is made in Italy by the artisans of Santagostino, the leading jewellery company belonging to Ilenia’s family. Thanks to her upbringing, she has a familiarity with the craft, and has spread her artistic wings to create series of bracelets, necklaces, rings and earrings based on insect figures, which have a plastic aspect generated by an approach that is closer to making sculpture than jewellery.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
