Masterly: The Dutch in Milan

He staged his male footwear for spring/summer 2016 in the gold-corniced palazzo Bocconi, with an installation designed by Patrick Kinmonth and Antonio Malhotra, almost a counterpoint of the frescoed ceilings of this historic building. Kinmonth and Malhotra have created a series of collages in a large book and animated these in a video, where past and present come together in a tumultuous narrative, enlivened by a kaleidoscope of colours and patterns. The meeting of the past, with figurative ladies and knights, and this, with the luxuriance of nature in bud, is the counterpoint of a collection of softness, in slender form, made of high quality leather such as python, ostrich, crocodile and kangaroo, designed in shades of burnt orange, brown, deep red, blue and night-black, dedicated to a man capable of daring in footwear design B.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
