Rossana Orlandi’s exhibition space is continuously graced with surprises. The most recent, “Sculture da Viaggio”, by artist Dario Ghibaudo, is no exception. A collection of hybrid beings, part fish, part reptile, made of pristine kaolin, look out at passersby from glass and wooden cases sealed by leather straps and handles, as if ready to be carried out of the gallery. Museo Ghibaudo is passionately dedicated to extending its family of unnatural history, inventing implausible species. His inexhaustible imagination is fueled by anthropology, botany, and ethnology, all leading to a “zoo2 filled with elegant, fragile, monstrous creatures. He views them as perfect travel companions through imaginary territories, his own interpretation of ancient, whimsical beasts.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
