Originating from the popular belief that identifies similarities between dogs and their owners, haute couture designer Maurizio Galante and his partner in life and work Tal Lancman, have proposed during the Parisian design week (September 2014) at Arteum Carrousel du Louvre, the coupling of dogs and divans. The occasion for this amusing exhibition was the creation of a divan complete with a pouf for the Italian brand Opinion Ciatti. As a corollary to the dishevelled divan with nicely rounded shapes, a series of big portraits of large-sized dogs was displayed, all characterised by dishevelled fur. Particularly spot-on the combination of dog breeds and divans, where the dogs sit in a dignified pose. The birth of a new combination: no longer dogs and owners, but dogs and divans.
