Thomas’s Burberry, London charm

So Boutique, in Milan’s Piazza Risorgimento, is a shining example of contamination. Baciocchi Associati have recently added the boutique to their diverse repertoire, and it is a drastic departure from the jewel box atmosphere in their previous projects, caffè Marchesi on Milan’s via Montenapoleone and on the first floor of Galleria Vittorio Emanuele. So is a strong hybrid of bright pop suggestions and raw materials. The common denominator is a series of spheres, including those on the building’s façade, illuminated with the brand’s logo at night.
The 300 square meter space hosts numerous semi-spheres lit from the inside, use to display garments hung from above, and accessories laying below. At first glance, the eye is drawn to a hand-decorated wall, covered in white paper and copper elements where other garments are hung. Frosted aluminum benches hold accessories and installations of glasses and flowers, enclosed in glass cases. Black walls are lit by neon-coloured lighting, and the flooring has been hand-laid, in perfect contrast to the benches and spheres’ shine.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
