The studio in the Church
29 April 2015
10 December 2015
During the week of corporate culture and in collaboration with Museimpresa, the Molteni Group inaugurated the Molteni Museum in its Headquarters in Giussano. The permanent exhibition recounts 80 years of corporate life. Designed by Jasper Morrison, with the corporate image coordinated by Studio Cerri & Associates, the Museum explores history, innovation, research and quality by showcasing 48 iconic products and prototypes of the Molteni & C Group, Dada, Unifor and Citterio.
The museum is the result of a process of historical recognition that led to the creation of the Molteni Archive, devoted to safeguarding the cultural heritage of the group, where more than 4,500 documents, covering concepts from products to corporate literature, are preserved. The original narrative of the group’s history, on which well-known designers and architects collaborated, unfolds through the products, paper and photographic materials and the videos by Francesca Molteni, a cultured and sensitive movie director, who for many years has been involved in the narration of the best pages in design through film.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
