Nestled in the mountains of Al Hajar in Oman, at 2,000 meters above sea level, is the extraordinary Alila Jabal Akhdar hotel. Built out of wood and stone in full respect of local tradition and the surroundings, the resort sets a new standard for hospitality in ethno-chic luxury. 84 suites and 2 independent villas are arranged around a large swimming pool, overlooking on one side the sharp peaks of the mountains, whilst on the other a deep gorge with vertical walls.
The interior skilfully balances raw materials and crafts such as dyed carpets that brighten the rooms, or handmade lanterns. Ideal for a detox, the Alila Jabal Akhdar offers its guests a Spa that specializes in Asian health treatments and is crowned by the Juniper Restaurant and Bar Rose. The hotel is also an ideal starting point for excursions to discover rural villages and views that take your breath away.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
