It is said that Mrs. Pound was a burlesque dancer famous in the 50’s. No one was as fascinating; she travelled the world with handsome men, until, one day, she decided to marry Mr. Ming and move to Hong Kong. It seems that Mr. Ming was a stamp collector, and left his store to his wife. It is also said that she transformed it into a “secret” location, where she kept a collection of her past life. This story lends a hand to the mysterious and fascinating Mrs. Pound restaurant, a speakeasy, unseen from the street, hidden behind an anonymous storefront.
Only after touching a lit stamp and moving the sliding walls can patrons find the door and enter the restaurant. The interior is colourful and glamorous, and divided into two principle spaces: a main dining room and a cocktail bar in the basement. All the dishes are flavourful, innovative versions of Asian street food and the restaurant has an extensive selection of artisan beers and spirits from independent distilleries.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
