In the spirit of pastel colours

Seletti, the design brand, has become the experimental laboratory for transgressive aesthetics applied to everyday objects, thanks to its collaboration with the artist Maurizio Cattelan and the photographer Pier Paolo Ferrari, founders of the disruptive magazine, “Toilet Paper”. The objects are intentionally made from “poor” materials, including plastic and tin. At the last Pitti Uomo (January 2016), Seletti was present, selling their wares from Piaggio’s Ape trucks, located in crucial points throughout the Fortezza. They are like peddlers selling everything under the sun, from carpets rolled on top of the roof, scented candles, plates and vases, dishcloths hung from a clothesline with clothespins, which together, create a kaleidoscope of vivid colours and provocative patterns. Seletti’s presence at Pitti Uomo shows how fashion is always the quickest to welcome new aesthetic expressions.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
