The Metropolitan Clubs are wellness centres found throughout Spain. One of those is the Barcelona Iradier, located west of the city centre, in a historic building. The Metropolitan Iradier has a gym, several training rooms, a swimming pool, solarium and spa, but also offers its members a dining and bar experience. Tarruella Trenchs designed the location inside the villa with the idea of maintaining its elegance and original decoration. The various areas were organized according to the original spaces, and only some of the original finishings were moved.
Stucco, marble and painted reliefs are the “frame” for minimalist wood furniture, finished in blue and grey fabric. Couches and low tables, stools at the bar, and more formal dining tables and chairs create areas beside monumental stairwells and angles of rare beauty, like the conversation area overlooking a private garden. All of the areas are connected, leaving members complete freedom to move between them, but a series of sliding doors has been installed, allowing any of them to host an intimate affair.

The Moodboarders is a glance into the design world, which, in all of its facets, captures the extraordinary even within the routine. It is a measure of the times. It is an antenna sensitive enough to pick-up on budding trends, emerging talents and neglected aesthetics. Instead of essays, we use brief tales to tune into the rhythm of our world. We travelled for a year without stopping, and seeing as the memory of this journey has not faded, we have chosen to edit a printed copy. We eliminated anything episodic, ephemeral or fading, maintaining a variety of articles that flow, without losing the element of surprise, the events caught taking place, and the creations having just bloomed.
