The Metropolitan Clubs are wellness centres found throughout Spain. One of those is the Barcelona Iradier, located west of the city centre, in a historic building. The Metropolitan Iradier has a gym, several training rooms, a swimming pool, solarium and spa, but also offers its members a dining and bar experience. Tarruella Trenchs designed the location inside the villa with the idea of maintaining its elegance and original decoration. The various areas were organized according to the original spaces, and only some of the original finishings were moved. Stucco, marble and painted reliefs are the “frame” for minimalist wood furniture, finished in blue and grey fabric. Couches and low tables, stools at the bar, and more formal dining tables and chairs create areas beside monumental stairwells and angles of rare beauty, like the conversation area overlooking a private garden. All of the areas are connected, leaving members complete freedom to move between them, but a series of sliding doors has been installed, allowing any of them to host an intimate affair.
